North Shelby / Hoover in the 35244 zip code was the fastest closing market in Birmingham, with an average of 14 days on the market. If measured in terms of median days, the answer would change to Altadena and Bluff Park, where homes went under contract in 2 days.
All of Birmingham is selling fast, because there is so little inventory. While this is a national problem caused by factors going back to the 2007 housing crisis, new construction starts are increasing in such a way that new inventory could be keeping up with the demand in the next few years. This will take time to even out, meaning that this sellers market will be around for a while.
